Justice League: 10 Over-Looked Positives
3. The New Characters Are Good
Given the surprisingly short run-time of the film, the new members- The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg- are arguably underdeveloped. After their appearances in that eye-rolling laptop scene in Batman vs. Superman and The Flash's very brief appearance in Suicide Squad, the 3 characters arrive and, having seen them in action, roll on their solo films. As already mentioned, Ezra Miller is a great Flash and proves to be the film's comic relief. He's a very effective one at that.
Jason Momoa as Aquaman, which was an excellent bit of casting, is also a promising new character. His backstory is non-existent, but the solo movie can take care of that. In terms of introducing and selling the character, this film does fine, which is again something reviewers are largely failing to acknowledge as well as Cyborg's interesting introduction.
As well as this, the team have an excellent dynamic with their various arguments being compelling and the bits of humor hitting home surprisingly well. The film has certainly crafted an interesting team of superheroes (No doubt Green Lantern will show up in the future) and at least doesn't have none of them getting along, which would have been such an obvious and tired story route.
