Justice League: 10 Things It Should Have Done Differently
9. A Longer Runtime
Clocking in at almost two hours, Justice League is a lean beast by superhero standards, and under the circumstances, it needed to be longer. Given that Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash were making their full debuts, they each needed more screen time to lay down their backstories and motivation.
The film suffered as a result of having to cram so much character development into 120 minutes, but even if Warner had given this trio the solo films they deserved ahead of the team-up, extra runtime would still have gone a long way.
There are so many moving parts in Justice League. Supporting characters like Commissioner Gordon, Lois Lane and Mera are comic icons who could have been put to better use, but there was little time to give them anything beyond cameos.
The Atlantean lore was glossed over, the Mother Boxes were given the cliff notes treatment, and the movie's main villain Steppenwolf offered nothing beyond archetypal evil. All of these problems could have been fixed with a lengthier runtime.
