Justice League: 29 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See

Lois Lane turning out to be the "big gun" contingency to stop Superman from murdering the Justice League was a smart way to incorporate the "Lois is the key" sequence from Batman v Superman, where The Flash travelled back through time to warn Bruce that Lois would be an integral solution to something in the future.

Most fans seemed to assume pre-release that Lois would need to be saved from death to prevent Superman from freaking out, but it actually turned out to simply mean that Lois' calming influence over Clark would stem his rampage.

It's perhaps a somewhat anti-climactic resolution to that dangling plot thread, but worked well enough as a payoff to a sequence that, honestly, a lot of fans probably never expected to be referenced again.
