9. Superhero Showdowns
In the Avengers, one of the elements that most appealed to the unashamed geek in me was the inclusion of the unbelievably epic superhero showdowns, which littered the first act. Captain America and Iron Man vs. Thor and Hulk vs. Black Widow which bled into Hulk vs. Thor. These were huge validations no doubt, and served to answer age old questions that all comic book fans have rattling around in their heads. Ive been quite vocal about my desire to see a Superman vs. Batman showdown, but I can also envision Batman vs. Green Lantern and, should he go rogue in the upcoming DC hero ensemble piece for whatever reason, Superman vs. Everyone (cause lets be honest, thats what itd take). Now, theres always the risk of DC attempting to borrow too much of what worked in the Avengers, which I agree would be unsatisfying as an audience, but when you put all of those unimaginably powerful beings together in one place, its only natural that wed want to see how they measure up to one another.
