Justice League Film: Casting Earth’s Protectors

6. Batman- Ben Barnes

Known for his role as Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Barnes is a talented up and coming young actor who needs a big role to establish him in Hollywood. Reports have stated that Batman, will be a young hero who is in his sophomore year of crime fighting. Harrington, who€™s 31, would be a solid fit for the age range seemingly because he could pass for 25. Also, Ben fits in the role physically being 6€™1. He portrays a fighting prince in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, so engaging in fight choreography wouldn€™t be foreign to him. Batman is a dark and appealing character. His psychology is multifaceted and intense. Batman is somewhat similar to Ben€™s character Prince Caspian. Caspian is a vengeful prince seeking revenge. He struggles with his own youthful desire for retribution against his father€™s killer. The character deals with a loss of innocence and a transformation. Batman go€™s through this as well. As a child Bruce Wayne loses all innocence and becomes a vengeful individual seeking retribution. Both characters have to learn to let go of their revenge at some point and become the hero€™s they€™re destined to be. Overall, Barnes is the right guy for the job. The similarities of his most known character and Batman are great and some that he can use. An unknown should be cast. It€™s worked out great for Marvel with Thor. Moreover, Barnes is British. They seem to be a hot commodity in the superhero community with Christian Bale prominently portraying The Dark Knight for the last seven years and Henry Cavill taking on the Superman mantle. Barnes has the dark and brooding semblance of Batman, as seen with his role as Caspian, but the attractiveness of a young playboy. He€™s a solid choice.
