Justice League: Funko Pops Reveal Superman Actually Wears Blue
The big blue boy scout is back...
Ahead of Justice League's debut later this year, toy makers Funko have revealed the first look at their core Pop Vinyl line for the film, revealing looks at the League in their costumes. The most interesting thing revealed is that Superman will be appearing in his traditional blue costume, according to the toy line (who tend to stick to the in-movie designs pretty closely).
It had been assumed that Supes would be transformed into the cooler, black suit wearing bad-ass of the comics after his revival, but Funko's line (or what's been revealed of it so far, anyway) suggests that he will be pulling on an updated version of his blue Boy Scout suit at some point.
Now, this could mean a number of things: either Funko are releasing an unrelated costume to preserve the spoiler (this won't be the case, because it's never stopped them before), or they're with-holding another limited edition variant to be released somewhere else (probably as a Comic Con exclusive or a retailer exclusive).
It doesn't at all mean that we won't get to see Superman in the black suit that Henry Cavill teased ages ago on Instagram, it probably just means that he gets through his dark phase before the end of the movie. Which is something of a shame if it's true, because seeing him more moody and cooler in Man Of Steel 2 would have been great.
The Pop Vinyl line includes Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Superman and The Flash so far, but it's very likely we'll see more added closer to release. There's no way we won't be getting a Steppenwolf, an alternate Batman, all of the League out of costume (bar cyborg obviously) and possibly a Parademon too. And I'd expect the black-clad Superman to be amongst those more limited edition designs.
Here are the rest of the Justice League Pop Vinyls...
