1. The Joker - Willem Dafoe
No matter how many fantasy casting calls that appear, or how many new faces break the market, there's no signs of subsiding in how well Dafoe would work as an older, even more unhinged Joker. Yes he already has a track record with Marvel, thanks to his performance as The Green Goblin, but he wouldn't be the first, or the last actor to break the divide, and that obstacle evaporates as a concern when you consider the characteristics he would bring to the iconic villain role. Dafoe is an incredibly creepy looking actor before he even opens his mouth, and there's something delightfully alluring about the idea of him playing a disgruntled Joker, serpentine and gnarled, annoyed that Batman is focused elsewhere and intent on recapturing the attention of his favourite caped plaything. At this stage it would be interesting - and somewhat unprecedented - to have The Joker as a secondary antagonist, with a long-play set-up for a future stand-alone Batman movie, because there's only so far team-up movies can get you.
