Justice League: Predicting The Fate Of Every Superhero
Justice for all?
DC fans have waited a lifetime to see all of their favourite heroes (and Cyborg) join forces on the big screen, but the time of the Justice League is almost upon us.
Zack Snyder's super-powered mash-up promises to bring together Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and other comic book titans for an epic showdown with the evil Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons.
On paper, it's a contest that could go either way since Apokoliptians aren't ones to mess with, even if you happen to have a bunch of superfriends to back you up.
Snyder and his creative team have been building towards this moment since Man of Steel soared into cinemas in 2013, and with four DC Extended Universe movies laying the groundwork for Justice League, we already have an idea of what to expect.
There are clues hinting at the fate of these iconic characters not just in the previous movies, but the DCEU roadmap too, with the film set to create connective tissue for future projects to share.
Which side will Superman be on after his inevitable resurrection? Will Batman learn to play nicely with others, and what's Cyborg's role in the Justice League? These's are just a few of the burning questions we've attempted to answer here.
6. Superman
When we last caught up with Supes, he was six feet under following his self-sacrifice at the end of Batman v Superman, but obviously we haven't seen the last of him - and not just because Henry Cavill is listed on the movie's IMDB page.
Resurrection is part and parcel of being Krypton's last son, but we're betting our bottom dollar on him coming back evil in Justice League, hence why Zack Snyder has gone to lengths to keep him hidden in every trailer so far.
Somewhere between Lex Luthor's technology and Steppenwolf's awesome power, the bad guys have the means to ensure the risen Man of Steel is no longer the wholesome red cape we saw in Dawn of Justice.
What will happen to him in Justice League? Remember that weird Flash cameo in Batman V Superman? Barry Allen warns Bruce Wayne that Lois Lane is "the key" - and we're taking that as the key to bringing Supes back over to the forces of good and turning the tide of battle.
So you can bank on this - evil Superman will face off against Batman, Wonder Woman et al, and Steppenwolf will bring the League to the brink of defeat with his help.
But a late reunion with Lois, orchestrated by Batman on The Flash's advice, will remind him who he once was and see him switch sides.
Ultimately, the Man of Steel will return to heroism as a fully-fledged Justice League member, resume his life in Metropolis as Clark Kent and rekindle his relationship with Ms Lane.
