Justice League Review: 4 Ups & 7 Downs

2. Jason Momoa Is A Bada** Aquaman

Aquaman Justice League
Warner Bros.

Aquaman has been a running joke in pop-culture ever since he was infamously lampooned by Family Guy, so it's a relief to see the character get his due on screen in this movie.

Jason Momoa is superbly cast as the water-dwelling superhero, nailing both the physically imposing requirements of the role and the wise-cracking tendencies.

Though it's a shame he doesn't get a little more to do throughout the film, Aquaman comes off like a total bada** for the most part, and it's safe to say that any fears about next year's already-shot Aquaman solo movie should be mostly quelled after this.

With director James Wan in control, there's easy potential for Aquaman to be a top-tier DCEU movie, even if it's perhaps not saying too much right now.
