8. How Important Will The Mother Boxes Be?

We see a couple of shots of the Mother Boxes in the trailer, first in the hands of Cyborg's father/creator Dr Silas Stone, and then later in the hands of Victor Stone himself (though it looks like it could be a different one).

As well as this, there are also two other Mother Boxes on Earth, with the Atlanteans and Amazons both having one (at one point, anyway, and again it looks like we get a glimpse of one underwater here).

The Mother Boxes are devices from Apokolips, which just so happens to be the home turf of DCEU Big Bad Darkseid. Are these three boxes why Steppenwolf and the Parademons are coming to Earth? And if so, just what do they plan to do with them?
