Despite JK Simmons' gym prep Instagram post making it seem that his version of Jim Gordon was going to be a beef-cake bruiser, it seems Justice League will introduce a more traditional take on the character. Well, that's the suggestion of his brief appearance in this trailer.

Let's be honest, JK Simmons' casting is an incredibly smart move, and him taking a more paternal relationship with Batman works well, given that this universe's version of Alfred is basically a snarky bitch. Incredibly, just as he looked perfect as J Jonah Jameson, Simmons looks like he was born to play Gordon.

It also looks like Snyder has been watching Batman: The Animated Series for inspiration. That moustache is a dead give-away...
