Justice League: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

9. The Ending

The ending of Justice League doesn't really try to reinvent the superhero wheel. In fact, it's a pretty standard affair; after Steppenwolf manages to merge all three of the motherboxes and kickstarts a world-ending event to slowly take over the Earth, the Justice League - eventually aided by the reanimated Superman - come together to stop him.

In an extended action scene, the team take to the skies and the streets to fight the villain's Parademons while avoiding the alien flora that's tearing through the planet, saving nearby civilians in the process.

In a move that's pretty much the antithesis of his approach in Man of Steel, Superman carries an entire building of people to safety while Cyborg and Wonder Woman attempt to pry the motherboxes apart. After a few setbacks, eventually the heroes save the civilians, defeat Steppenwolf and neatly reverse the destructive power of the alien artefacts before any serious damage is caused.

After four movies, the Justice League has finally been formed.
