Justice League: What Does The Ending Really Mean?
7. The Heroes Are More Hopeful Than Ever
By the end of Justice League, the dour mood of previous entries in the DCEU has virtually been eradicated. For better or for worse, the dark tone of Batman v Superman and Man of Steel has gave way to a more hopeful future, with each of the film's heroes finally embracing their destiny to become the Earth's protectors.
Not only have they reconciled their differences to form a cohesive unit, finally becoming the Justice League proper, but they've also been convinced to use their individual powers for good. After decades in hiding, Wonder Woman has embraced her role as a crime fighter, while Superman has grown to be the protector of Metropolis. Even Batman, notorious for being stubborn and unflinchingly pessimistic, has started to get over his past, and probably won't be branding criminals with bat symbols any time soon.
The ending marks a huge shift for the DCEU going forward then; these heroes are closer to their iconic comic-book counterparts than ever before, and are ready to try and make the world a better, more hopeful place just in time for their upcoming individual spin-offs.
