2. Allison Williams
Allison Williams is quickly gaining a cult following and a strong reputation for her performance as Marnie in the hit American TV show, Girls, in which she plays the sophisticated Marnie, but interestingly I picked her for this position in my list before I realised that she actually has prior experience playing Kate Middleton, albeit not seriously, in the Funny or Die series named Will & Kate: Before Happily Ever After, which she also wrote. Admittedly, during these episodes it is clear that her English accent leaves a lot to be desired, but it is unlikely that a lot of hard work went into it for a series of intentionally funny sketches anyway, and at times it really feels like it could quite easily have been perfected with a bit of work. Whilst Williams, like some of the aforementioned actresses in this list, loses likelihood due to her American nationality, with it being much more likely that the royals would take kindly to a British actress fulfilling the role, it is hard to ignore the fact that she perfectly embodies Kate Middleton's more graceful qualities, also bearing a striking resemblance to her at times. Add to this the fact that her time on Girls has proved that she can handle heavy, often emotionally charged, moments with ease, whilst maintaining her comedic roots, and you begin to realise that she could definitely fit the role. It also doesn't feel unfair to suggest that Williams is also the least well-known actress on this list, so maybe it wouldn't be so out there after all, with an actress relatively unknown to British audiences able to take on the role any way she wanted.
