Kiss Me Deadly: 10 Films That Feature Necrophilia

9. Dead Mate (1988)

"They do something to the bodies but it ain't embalming!" Nora - a waitress - agrees to marry John Henry Cox about two minutes after meeting him they move into a mortuary in Newbury. Something is terribly wrong in town with a spate of strange accidents befalling the citizens. Soon it is revealed that both John and the weirdos of his town and family are raging necros! Nora must try and escape her doom of being turned into Henry's latest dead flame. It has to be said that Dead Mate is not a conventional 'good movie'. The acting is so bad, you will think you have come across a species of actors from some weird planet in outer space. The film has nothing of any import to say about necrophilia, it just uses the subject matter for exploitation purposes. Lovers of camp and trash films will however, gobble the movie up and have much fun with it. Mind you, you have to take.. substances to enjoy the film fully. It's just that kind of movie - a complete snigger fest.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
