Kong: Skull Island - 25 Easter Eggs & References You Must See

1. The Post-Credits

Inevitably, there's a post-credits scene and Legendary have taken a lead from the MCU by using it to set up the next steps in their mooted Monsterverse that will eventually see the great ape meet Godzilla.

In the post-credit, Weaver and Conrad are taken into Monarch's custody (because, weirdly, the company has its own muscle department already) where it becomes obvious that they're going to be strong-armed into keeping their experience on Skull Island secret.

As a way to convince them, San and Brooks reveal that there are more monstrous kings in the world, thank to the evidence of cave paintings of iconic movie creatures Mothra, Rodan, King Ghidorah, and Godzilla setting up the upcoming sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which is set for 2019. As if marking his territory, the stinger ends with Godzilla's roar.
