Recently, it was reported that Sony Pictures is looking for a "Joel Kinnaman-type" to take on the role of Kraven the Hunter in Sony Pictures' Universe of Marvel Characters. So, that begs the question: why the hell not just cast Joel Kinnaman?
RoboCop was obviously a misfire, but he's since impressed in Suicide Squad and Netflix's Altered Carbon, so there can be no doubt that his version of Kraven would be one that makes an impact. If there are indeed big plans in place for this character moving forward, then casting the right person is vital, and Kinnaman has such a compelling presence on screen, you just know this would work.
Kinnaman knows how to portray a tough as nails lead, and his role as Colonel Rick Flag in the DC Universe shows that he can easily switch between being a hateful bad guy to a charming, likeable presence on screen. The actor will return in The Suicide Squad, but with fans convinced he'll be among those to perish, the door could be open to a role in the Marvel Universe instead.
