7. Ben Affleck

There is no doubt that the next man to don the cape and cowl of Batman will most likely too busy to even be considered for the role of Joel but he does indeed possess the skill to pull it off if he was ever chosen. Ben Affleck has had quite the uphill battle redeeming himself from bombs like Pearl Harbor, Daredevil and Gigli, but he has worked hard and has proven all of his doubters wrong by directing three phenomenal films, one of which (Argo) brought him his second Oscar. I think that Affleck would take great pride in the role and would make it very personal as well, seeing as he is the father to three girls. That would play greatly into one of the major traits about Joel: The need to protect Ellie at all costs. Affleck has proven in films like The Town and Hollywoodland that he can be quite intense when it is required of him, and that would aid him very well when it comes to taking on the role of Joel. And obviously, if Affleck was chosen to play the next Batman, then he most likely has that dark, brooding side that would allow him to portray Joel perfectly.
