54. "Iron Man Sucks"

The venomous comic book movie references aren't restricted to the DCEU: as a delightful cheap shot, it turns out that the password to the Bat-Cave is "Iron Man Sucks."

53. Batman's Suits

Batman's walk-in wardrobe shows off a number of recognisable costumes; there's a New 52 version, costumes from Gotham By Gaslight, Batman Beyond, the Knightmare suit from Batman v Superman and even a caveman version that feels like a homage to Grant Morrison's resurrection of the character.

As other little Eggs, The Winged Avenger (one of the suit titles) was the name of an episode of The Avengers (the spies, not the superheroes), which featured a mysterious caped villain, and the Bat Pack sparkly suit is obviously named for the Rat Pack.

52. "You Complete Me"

It quickly transpires that Batman isn't actually as content with his life as he pretends, he's actually a lonely fan of rom-coms (Marley & Me, Jerry Maguire and Serendipity among others). The Tom Cruise film in particular is of note, since the plot (of a hero full of bravado who finds the value in family) is almost identical to LEGO Batman on a basic level.

And of course, the movie's most famous line "you complete me" was borrowed by The Joker in The Dark Knight...
