Len Wiseman to direct his "five year passion project"

SHELL GAME actually has a really cool plot about a detective and his moral dilemma over the dangerous black-market business of immortality. But then you remember Wiseman directed LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD.

Len Wiseman who like Brett Ratner has struggled to get a couple of franchises under way in the past year has instead settled for something original. The movie is Shell Game... a five year sci-fi passion project which Wiseman had previously been unable to make because it was too expensive to make at the level he wanted with various studio's. After seeing Live Free or Die Hard make over $100 million domestic and $382 million worldwide, becoming the most successful Die Hard movie ever, a studio this time around wasn't too hard to find with Lakeshore Entertainment and Columbia Pictures soon snapping up the flick. It actually has a really cool plot...

Set in the future, the sci-fi action thriller follows a detective who is faced with a moral dilemma as he investigates the dangerous black-market business of immortality. Justin Bondi and Andrew Ludington wrote the original screenplay, while Wiseman and Chris Morgan penned the most recent draft.
Chris Morgan is one of the writers on Wanted and he has sole credit on the last Fast and the Furious movie. So it's pretty much a given this is going to be more heavy handed action nonsense. I can't really describe how much I hated the last Die Hard movie. If only Wiseman was as interesting in this genre as Alex Proyas, James Cameron or Ridley Scott then we would have had something to really get excited over! source - variety
