Leonard Nimoy Dies Age 83

Farewell Spock.

It's a heart-breaking sentence to write, but here goes; Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy has died aged eighty-three. Announced by his wife, Susan Bay Nimoy, he passed away in the early morning at his home in Bel Air in the early morning of 27th February 2015. The actor, who of course played Spock in Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Animated Series, two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, six of the original run of movies and the two recent reboots, had been suffering health complications and was hospitalised earlier this week. He had been suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Despite his heath problems being well publicised, this is still quite shocking news and pretty saddening. Nimoy was always very connected to the fan base, famously embracing the half-vulcan Science Officer after initially trying to put Trek behind him. The sentiment of his first autobiography, I Am Not Spock, was later reversed by his second, I Am Spock a couple of decades later, which heralded a run of roles in the likes of The Simpsons and The Big Bang Theory where he sent his persona up. It's such a typical observation, but it must be said that he really did prosper in his life. His final Tweet, posted on Monday, serves as some beautifully poignant last words. https://twitter.com/TheRealNimoy/status/569762773204217857 What was your favourite Spock moment?
