Leonard Nimoy's Spock To Appear in Star Trek 2?

81-year-old Trek legend reveals talks with J.J. Abrams over appearing in the currently filming sequel.

Leonard Nimoy watched the Enterprise/747 flyover of New York City this week and was interviewed by CNN where he hinted at a possible role in J.J. Abrams' currently shooting 'Star Trek' sequel. When asked point blank if we could expect to see him "in another STAR TREK movie?", Nimoy said;
"Umm...We're talking. We're talking."
As J.J. Abrams won't be thinking in terms of Star Trek 3 just yet, if he is talking to Nimoy he must be talking about another appearance in the sequel. The 81-year-old Trek legend of course memorably appeared in 2009's 'Star Trek', the character from the original timeline that tied together the new alternative universe with the fifty years that had gone before. His first meeting with Chris Pine's younger Kirk is one of the very best moments in the whole film and I'm not surprised that Abrams is interested in bringing him back again. If you have the original Spock in your universe... why the hell not use him? Leonard Nimoy tweeted earlier in the year about visiting the set of the currently untitled sequel, but we imagine he hasn't filled a potential cameo/supporting gig just yet as it sounds like they are just talking about the possibility right now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEBzXONMyqQ Star Trek 2 is set for a May 17th, 2013 release and stars all the original Enterprise crew along with the new additions of Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Noel Clarke and Peter Weller. No official word yet on the plot or official title but we imagine announcements won't be too far away.
