Leonardo DiCaprio: 5 Awesome Performances and 5 That Sucked

2. Inception - Dom Cobb

inception_heist-e1282922761213 In Christopher Nolan's mind bending 2010 film Inception DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb, a man with a special set of skills, the ability to enter a person's dream world and manipulate the sub-conscious mind therein. In this multilayer epic DiCaprio plays a man haunted by his past, the death of his wife and the estrangement of his children keep his demons in check throughout the film, and he is on a constant wavelength of remorse and determination to rid himself of these problems. The by now seasoned Hollywood leading man plays Cobb with such confidence and understanding of the role that we dissolve into Nolan's fantasy world and believe the imaginative story line that transpires. The film relies heavily on DiCaprio's work to sell it home and he leads the audience not only through a labyrinth setup, but also his character's journey as well, becoming a wonderful guide on a most fantastic ride. It is truly hard to imagine anyone else having the power to carry such an unusually cerebral Hollywood blockbuster.
