Leonardo DiCaprio: Ranking Every Performance From Worst To Best

13. Hank - Marvin's Room

What do you get when you put Meryl Streep, Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio in a movie? Lots of great bloody acting, that's what. So in this fairly underrated (but by no means perfect) film based on the stage play of the same name, DiCaprio stretches his acting chops and finds a great, natural performance in Hank, who has been put in a mental institution because one day he decided to burn down his mother's house. Oops. It's a shame that Marvin's room is so frequently dull, though. Still, Leo absolutely shines as his troubled character.

12. Dominic Cobb - Inception

Inception gave Leo the opportunity to act broody for two hours, which he did whilst delving into various dream layers wearing a suit with his hair all slicked back. Dom Cobb isn't an amazingly interesting character, no, and he does seem to exist primarily as the guy who's there to answer Ellen Page's questions regarding the complicated nature of Chris Nolan's puzzle-like narrative. Still, DiCaprio manages to make us feel for Cobb and provides a good straight man in a movie that otherwise consists of characters like "the Japanese one," "the British one," and "the Indian one."

11. Tobias Wolfe - This Boy's Life

Sometimes people say, "Oh, wouldn't it be great if Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro were in a Martin Scorsese movie together - both of Scorsese' boys in one motion picture extravaganza, bringing together classic Scorsese and modern Scorsese into what could arguably be his greatest movie ever." And whilst that is a superb idea, whoever said that, are you aware of the non-Scorsese This Boy's Life, in which DiCaprio - in one of his earliest roles - stars alongside Robert De Niro as Tobias Wolfe. In a breakout performance that goes down as one of his absolute best, he upstages everyone - even freakin' De Niro. It's not an easy film, but it's worth watching for some great Young Leo.

10. Jack Dawson - Titanic

"I'M KING OF THE WORLD!" Not only is that a quote that you'd pay $1000 to never hear again, it's also what Leonardo DiCaprio should say when he wins his Oscar, as to his inspire countless memes and send the internet into something of a LOL meltdown. Say what you will about Leo's turn in James Cameron's movie about that famous unsinkable ship, but this is where it all began. Every girl in the world fell in love with Jack Dawson, and for good reason: he's a total dreamboat. BOAT! Get it?
