Lily Collins Is The Fairest Of Them All As SNOW WHITE!
British actress Lily Collins will be the fairest of them in Tarsem Singh's adventure/comedy re-imagining of Snow White, about a young girl who alongside a pack of seven dwarves sets out to taken down the Evil Queen who has destroyed the kingdom and killed her father. Julia Roberts has been long set as the Evil Queen, and The Social Network's Armie Hammer was cast on Monday as Prince Andrew Alcott, with filming to begin next month for a release on June 29th, 2012. Relativity are racing to get their film in theatres six months before Universal's rival project Snow White and the Huntsmen is set to be released in December, 2012 and who themselves are struggling to cast a love interest after Viggo Mortensen dropped the project (though they do have Kirsten Stewart and Charlize Theron as Snow White/Evil Queen respectively). For Tarsem's film, Melissa Wallack and Jason Keller's original screenplay went by the title of Brothers Grimm: Snow White but it appears that has been dropped as the project has been toned down for the mainstream audiences, and I imagine they will just stick with Snow White when all is said and done. For Lily Collins- this is clearly her big breakout role, a part that she will be hoping does for her what Alice in Wonderland did for Mia Wasikowska. She made her debut in The Blind Side in 2009 but already has gathered strong momentum having already completed her part opposite Taylor Lautner in the thriller Abduction and recently nabbing the lead role in an adaptation of The Mortal Instruments, to be directed by Scott Charles Stewart, who just helmed her in Priest. The news of Collins' casting was announced by the actress at WonderCon.
