9. The Violence Has Actual Weight To It

Deadpool is an R-rated superhero movie with a ton of brutal violence, though the movie's tone ensures there's rarely much visceral impact to it: it's cartoonishly over-the-top for the most part, and most fans wouldn't have it any other way.

That said, seeing a superhero movie not only feature graphic gore but actually take it all dead seriously is so rare, and it's something Logan pulls off beautifully.

There are severed limbs, decapitated heads and a lot of blood, which combined with fans finally getting to see Logan in all his ultra-violent glory, makes it something Deadpool just can't even begin to compete with.
