Logan: 15 Most Brutal Moments That Earned Its R-Rating
4. Killed By Grass
As already established, Donald Pierce is generally an awful character and his treatment of Caliban robs him of any hope of a nice death by the end of the film. Even with that hanging over him, the sight of him taken down by the mutant kids he terrorised and tried to kill is edged with the distinct feeling that it might have been a little harsh.
Renewed in their hatred of him and emboldened by Logan's appearance to help them escape the Reavers, the kids turn on Pierce, combining their powers to have him literally eaten by the ground. Weeds and grass grow over him, suffocating and crushing at a horribly slow pace.
The look on his eyes of towering fear, edged with bargaining is bad enough, but the crunch as his body finally gives up and crumbles under the force of his bindings is a haunting moment that will last long after this franchise is long forgotten.
