Logan Trailer Breakdown: 24 Things You Need To See
22. Mutants Are Dead
Probably the most haunting image in the entire trailer shows Logan suited up in a graveyard, chugging away at a bottle of alcohol while a funeral takes place in the background.
Logan then says to Xavier, "Mutants...they're gone now", suggesting that all of the X-Men have been killed.
This naturally raises a ton of enticing questions: how, exactly, were they all taken down? How did this happen so soon after Days of Future Past? And how come Logan and Xavier were able to escape capture?
It's an incredibly grim note with which to set the film's tone, but should help differentiate it hugely from the mainline X-Men movies (and hopefully for the better).
