18. The Tone Is Similar To The Last Of Us
One of the first things picked up on by many fans is how similar the movie's overall tone seems to be to Naughty Dog's classic video game The Last of Us.
Sure, a large part of the reason for this comparison is because Hugh Jackman so intensely resembles the game's protagonist Joel, but the similar surrogate father-daughter scenario makes it more than a superficial comparison, and it's certainly not outside the realm of possibility that Mangold and his team drew inspiration from the universally acclaimed gaming masterpiece.
If nothing else, Jackman needs to be first in line to play Joel if the planned TLoU movie ever actually gets made.
