6. Seth Rogen & Charlize Theron's Terrific Chemistry

Though Long Shot's marketing seems to suggest that the crux of the film revolves around the impossibility of a schlub like Seth Rogen ending up with a beautiful, elegant woman like Charlize Theron, that's actually not the real basis of the movie at all.

Rather, the film forges a romance between Fred and Charlotte without much fuss at all, and the only obstacle is Charlotte's political career being heavily image-sensitive, where an average Joe like Fred just doesn't cut it.

In another movie their hook-up might seem contrived and rushed, but thanks to unexpectedly strong chemistry between Rogen and Theron, it's immediately believable.

The pair play off one another exceptionally well, and the result is much less of an "odd couple" movie than you might be anticipating. As a result, it also avoids feeling like the scruffy male fantasy that the trailers seemed to imply.
