18. Piper Perabo is the Hooker, Say It With Me, With a Heart of Gold
Now, alright Piper Perabo is a great looking girl, no doubt about that, and by some accounts she is a decent actress. Why go the hooker with the heart of gold route? It is a trope done to death, she is a working girl but is only doing so for her kid. Why not just have her be the full-on girlfriend Love Interest for younger Joe? It makes the older Joe's long hesitation at killing her child more believable. Creating a more serious rift between the old and young Joe's, the fact that old Joe believes that he has yet to meet their soulmate . Oh, that's right so we can have young Joe fall for Sara (I'll be getting to that soon enough).
