There was no questioning that Elrond birthed one badass elf-maiden. Peter Jackson pretty much turned Arwen into Xena, Warrior Princess. But he missed a trick excluding Elrond's twin sons from the films.

Elladan and Elrohir had an important role during the War of the Ring. They were unique in that they worked closely with the Rangers of the North to oppose Sauron for years. In their younger days they fought with Aragorn's father, and when the future king grew up, they helped him on his many travels. During the Fellowship of the Ring they act as scouts gathering key information for the Council of Elrond. And appear again at a key moment in the Return of the King.

Peter Jackson diverted hugely when it came to Aragorn recruiting the Army of the Dead. In the films Legolas and Gimli are the only ones to follow Aragorn. But in the books Elladan and Elrohir arrive at Helm's Deep with a company of DĂșnedain rangers - the last of Aragorn's kind. Together they ride with Aragorn through the Paths of the Dead, and help liberate the southern realms of Gondor. They then gather all the the men they can and follow Aragorn to the siege of Minas Tirith.

They'd make some pretty solid candidates for a spin-off show...
