4. Why Did Zod Take Lois Lane?
In a show of altruism perfectly suited to the character, Superman surrenders himself to the humans (specifically the American government acting on everyone's behalf, as always) and is taken aboard Zod's ship, along with Lois Lane, who Zod insists must also come, for reasons that are never actually made clear. If Lane was harbouring Superman somewhere, this might have made sense, as they could use their special mind-reading skills (that are referenced NOWHERE ELSE in the film) to discover where he was, and gone to get him. But we subsequently learn that they also read Superman's mind, presumably in order to find out the location of the codex (which they both knew, so the mind-reading obviously wasn't very good) rendering Lane's presence entirely unnecessary. So why the hell was she there?
