3. Russell Crowe as JorEl
On the flip side of the voice-over coin, Russell Crowes monologue on his version of the trailer comes from a place of much greater emotional restraint. JorEl, as we know, is a native Kryptonian and has extremely high expectations for the last son of Krypton. But although hes all together colder and more idealistic about the determined fate of his legacy, Crowe still manages to punctuate the performance with the same notes of pride that accentuate Costners, albeit in an opposing context. These two trailers together provide a completely rounded and all-encompassing view of Supermans defining themes as a character and in just a combined total run time of 3 minute and 8 seconds to boot. I can only imagine what might be achieved in a full feature length movie.
