Man of Steel Trailers: 7 Reasons To Be Excited About Superman Again

3. Russell Crowe as Jor€™El

On the flip side of the voice-over coin, Russell Crowe€™s monologue on his version of the trailer comes from a place of much greater emotional restraint. Jor€™El, as we know, is a native Kryptonian and has extremely high expectations for the last son of Krypton. But although he€™s all together colder and more idealistic about the determined fate of his legacy, Crowe still manages to punctuate the performance with the same notes of pride that accentuate Costner€™s, albeit in an opposing context. These two trailers together provide a completely rounded and all-encompassing view of Superman€™s defining themes as a character and in just a combined total run time of 3 minute and 8 seconds to boot. I can only imagine what might be achieved in a full feature length movie.
