MAN OF STEEL Will Feature Krypton, Jor-El & Faora?

Now that we know Michael Shannon will bring his detached from humanity persona to Man of Steel as the all powerful General Zod, can we expect an appearance from his troublesome sidekicks? I would suggest so, seems only right for them to be included and indeed we've already heard strong rumours that Ursa has a key role in the new Superman film. Latino Review, the site who originally broke that particular story and several other Superman scoops that turned out to be valid lately, now say that the female villainess of Man of Steel will be Faora. Described in the script as Zod's 'right hand bitch' they remind us that Ursa, who appeared in Richard Donner's Superman movies, was actually based on the Faora character from the comics. Zack Snyder skewing closer to the comics for the character seems to make sense but we must also say that previous talk of Diane Kruger, Alice Eve and Rosamund Pike being linked to the role has mostly been debunked by all their respective representatives. Actress Diane Lane (who will play Martha Kent, Superman's adopted mother) let slip earlier this week that Man of Steel will definitely be a Batman Begins style origin tale, not surprising given that the script comes from David Goyer, who wrote that movie for Chris Nolan.
"It does cover the entire range of years, from infancy on."
LR also say Jor-El, Superman's real father from Krypton will make an appearance and that Daniel Day-Lewis is wanted for the part, a thesp of epic stature that would match Marlon Brando from the original. It's said that Superman's birth mother and the planet Krypton will also feature in the story - however I'm not entirely sure this can be the case, as I thought there was a lawsuit won that prevented Warner Bros. from using Kal-el's home planet? Here's more of what LR said;
Being that the "Man of Steel" is a reboot/origin story or whatever you want to call it, they will show you the whole story all over again. Well not the way Richard Donner showed you but it will have some sort of similarities to "Batman Begins." Krypton will not be a crystal planet like the Donner film; this Krypton will PROBABLY look like the Coruscant skyline from Star Wars.
They then showed us these two images... So it's an origin movie, again. I guess you had to know Warner Bros. were always going to play this card so they could re-introduce Superman to a whole new generation and also allow Zack Snyder to build his world up the way he wants it. Of course we all know that the absolute perfect Superman origin tale was told in the 70's but this is indeed the times of reboots and origins. But it still smacks as being unnecessary. Everyone knows the backstory of Clark Kent. Even your girlfriend who doesn't like comic books...
