A completely new direction: shaved to the skull shows a man of action, a man that don't take no sh*t, a man who sees hair as something that will only slow him down. The Jarhead is the follicle-uniform of the military (sported here for the film Jarhead, as the title suggests), possibly done in an attempt to make yourself more aerodynamic, or to provide a rough surface with which to light matches. There are of course more practical and less ridiculous reasons for this lid, but I don't know them. This style is well-known among men and commands respect - it is the metaphorical hat worn by soldiers as a badge of their trade, and is recognised by other guys as the hairdo of man who is stronger, harder, faster, more accomplished, better at folding uniforms, and probably better at fixing stuff as well (unless you're both a soldier and a handyman, in which case you win on all fronts).
