Marvel's Doctor Strange: 8 Reasons You Should Be Excited

1. His Unique Set Of Powers

Even Avengers and Avengers: Age Of Ultron director Joss Whedon has had issues with this part of the MCU, and it's one that hasn't really changed a great deal since those two movies; pretty much every single hero in this universe has 'punching' powers, which doesn't allow for a great deal of visual and storytelling diversity in the action department.

However, Doctor Strange looks set to drive a bright, magical stake through the heart of this issue, and that's one of the biggest draws the movie currently possesses. The Sorcerer Supreme can conjure up shields and weapons, cast a variety of spells and generate portals that can allow him to travel to anywhere in the world in an instant. His cloak allows him to fly, and in the comics, Strange even turned his dead brother into a vampire while attempting to bring him back to life. Crazy.

And these abilities open all kinds of weird and wonderful doors. Captain America is great, but all he does is punch stuff - just like Hulk, Black Widow, Bucky, Black Panther and others - so hopefully, Doctor Strange embraces the vast amount of opportunities afforded to the character and tries to break the mold, rather than fit comfortably within it.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
