9. Jack Of Hearts
The Jack of Hearts is Jack Hart - the son of the acclaimed scientist Philip Hart, who created a revolutionary and extremely efficient liquid energy source called "Zero Fluid", and Marie, an alien humanoid woman of the Contraxian race. Jack had a relatively normal childhood - attending college and performing quite well in his academic ventures - but his whole world was torn apart when he was still young. Has Father perfected his Zero Fluid and had opted to donate the fuel to all the free countries of the world. But he was contacted by agents of a criminal corporation who wanted to market the Zero Fluid. Refusing to deal with them, Philip Hart was murdered by them in front of Jack. Escaping his Father's killers, Jack Hart took refuge in his basement laboratory. Agents from the criminal corporation would follow him soon after and their laser-cannon sheared through the laboratory door, striking the vat of Zero Fluid which covered Jack. As a result, Jack underwent a mutagenic change and began to glow and, with an uncontrollable burst of energy generated by his entire body, he killed the men who had just murdered his Father. Promising to avenge his Father's murder fully, he vowed to take down the entire corporation. He fashioned an armoured costume for himself, using equipment from his Father's own armament, and it somehow interacted with the final stage of mutation and provided a moderator that contained and controlled the release of his body's energy. He became the Jack of Hearts and, being new to super-heroics, asked Iron Man to take him on as an apprentice, which he did. He would later join the Avengers. His story is interesting and he would make a very cool addition to the MCU.
