2. Loki Getting The Avengers Attention (Avengers: Assemble)
One thing that really bugged me about Loki's plan in the Avengers movie was this; Instead of 'deviously' forcing the Avengers to come together, in the hope that he could make them bicker with each other (which, I admit, did work at first), why didn't he just launch the attack without warning them
at all? He could have materialised in the SHIELD facility, easily killed everyone in there (aside from those he needed, like Selvig etc) including Nick Fury (so he couldn't have informed everyone of what had gone on), then gone about his business in Stuttgart a lot less extravagantly, thus not getting caught (which, for a stupid reason, he planned) and launched the invasion prior to SHIELD having the opportunity to bring the Avengers within striking distance of New York. I understand that the plan was to cause in-fighting, but wouldn't it have been better to have left Bruce Banner in India, left Thor in Asgard and not given Nick Fury the opportunity to recruit the rest prior to an invasion? Not only did Loki allow the Avengers to assemble, he also risked his plan to make them fight amongst themselves failing and ended up just being held hostage for good. As Tony Stark put it, Loki 'wanted an audience', and it was ultimately his vanity and his need to be seen as powerful that cost him. But we shouldn't have expected anything less from the god of mischief.
