Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Plot Points That Needed Further Exploration

1. The Removal Of Tony Stark's Mini Arc Reactor

ironman3arcreactor This was just wrong. After four full movies in which the mini arc reactor in Tony's chest had been described as essential to keep him alive, it was removed in a matter of seconds via a brief operating table scene and a hasty voice-over. The arc reactor was Tony Stark. Removing it essentially removes a huge part of his identity. And it was also suggested previously that removing it would kill him, yet a group of what look like ordinary surgeons seemed to carry out the removal operation - and the shrapnel it was stopping from reaching Tony's heart - as if it were any other standard surgical procedure. It was inexplicable and should definitely have been more of a traumatic and painstaking experience for Tony and the decision to remove it should have been a long and hard-thought one. Instead, it was undone in the blink of an eye, which was frankly quite disrespectful to the legacy created by the movies before Iron Man 3. Do you agree with this list?
