Marvel Cinematic Universe: 11 Films To Expect In Phase 4

It's hard to imagine how another Avengers film could begin to top the events of Infinity War and Endgame, particularly as it would have to move forward without a handful of faces who have defined what the Avengers films are over the last decade, but it's inevitable that we'll be seeing another one down the line whenever Phase 4 draws to a close.

As the franchise begins to shift away from its OG heavy-hitters like Iron Man and Captain America, the second decade will offer other characters the chance to step up and shoulder the burden of carrying us forward, like Captain Marvel and Black Panther. With that in mind, it'll be interesting to see how the Avengers as a unit reforms and evolves with these characters coming together to forge their own history together built on the legacy of their predecessors.

Anything can happen between now and then, of course, and the team could end up facing off with any sort of villain - Earthbound, cosmic, or otherwise - that we have yet to meet. Even Joe and Anthony Russo have teased that the Secret Wars storyline could bring them back for another directorial go-round.

But wherever Marvel chooses to take this franchise next, it's undeniable that the Avengers will reassemble again, and if it's in Phase 4, it'd likely be in 2023 or 2024 in order to put some distance between it and Endgame so that all the other films in between have room to breathe.
