25. Potential Punisher Reference
When Nick Fury's on the run from Hydra assassins, he's helped out by the sudden intervention of a Penske truck. The same truck pops up again to run over Hydra agent Sitwell. Commenting on the coincidence, co-director Joe Russo said that the man behind the wheel has "got a plan and a very specific skill set", hinting that it's actually The Punisher. Take it with a pinch of salt, but these moments could be setting up an MCU return for Frank Castle.
24. Furys Laser Cutter
The Winter Soldier adds a lot of new sci-fi tech to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s arsenal; everything from memory-wiping machines to Mission: Impossible facemasks. But one of the more outlandish gadgets had actually appeared before. The laser cutter that Nick Fury uses to escape the Winter Soldier (and Maria Hill uses to free Cap from Hydra later on) is the same tech seen in the opening of Captain America: The First Avenger cutting through the ice.
23. Sharon Carter
In the comics, Agent 13, the S.H.I.E.L.D. operative tasked with keeping tabs on Steve Rogers, is a pretty important character; she's Peggy Carter's daughter, Sharon. Although the film doesn't confirm it, Emily VanCamp's subsequent appearance on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has confirmed the MCU's Agent 13 is indeed Sharon Carter. Here she's Peggy's great-niece, as opposed to daughter, a fact that was alluded to in the film; she complains to Steve, of all people, about her aunt's insomnia.
22. The Screenwriters Are S.H.I.E.L.D. Interrogators
When meeting with Alexander Pierce after Nick Fury's death, Steve is shown some footage from Batroc's interrogation. The two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents conducting the interview are none other than Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the film's screenwriters.
