Marvel Studios Has No Plans To Bring Iron Man Back From The Dead
Sorry fans, Tony Stark will remain dead.
Marvel Studios doesn't plan on bringing Iron Man back to life.
During a recent interview (via ComicBook) Victoria Alonso, Marvel EVP, revealed that the story arc of Tony Stark reached its conclusion in Avengers Endgame and there's nowhere else left for the character to go.
"Tony Stark is dead and that's our story. Resurrection i do not know. I don't know how we would do it. It seems to me that the story of Tony Stark is told by us. Hence, he has left his inheritance, who he is for example in Spider-Man because Peter Parker has been a false son, so you see a lot of what Tony Stark would have been in Peter Parker. And it seems to me that you see that constantly in how one person influences the other. But no, at the moment we don't have any plans".
Iron Man's sacrifice at the end of Avengers Endgame was one of the best scenes of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, and maybe Robert Downey Jr's finest performance, and bringing him back would likely diminish his heroic act.
We know that Tony Stark is going to have a cameo in Black Widow (the movie is set way before Avengers Endgame) but that's it for the genius, billionaire, philanthropist and playboy.
With the MCU multiverse incoming, fans could very well see a different version of Iron Man, maybe played by a totally different actor, pop up in the next movies.
