Matt Damon: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

...And 5 That Sucked

5. Cale Tucker - Titan A.E.

Titan A.E. Matt Damon Titan A.E. may have been a box office bomb and viewed indifferently by critics, but in effect, it's really not all that bad. Damon provides the voice for protagonist Cale Tucker, a 19-year-old man who ends up separated from his father just as Earth is destroyed by an alien species called the Drej. The rest of the movie is his effort to avenge Earth and his father by taking the aliens down once and for all. The problem, though, is that Damon doesn't really have the lively, animated voice that you need for a cartoon. Don't get me wrong, the guy is superb in live-action, but animation requires actors who can heighten and exaggerate their usual personality a little, something that Damon categorically fails to do here, and as is also noticeable in his other animated performances (notably Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and Happy Feet 2).
