Matt Vaughn finds his Mystique for X-MEN: FIRST CLASS!

What happened to Amber Heard? No worries, we'll get over it. THR say Jennifer Lawrence, 20 years old next month, has been cast in X-Men: First Class as the sexy, blue tinted, shape-shifting mutant Mystique. She will be transformed into the super-villain via the same elaborate make-up so memorably painted on Rebecca Romjin in the original X-Men trilogy. Mystique was one of the better comics-to-film translated X-mutants we think, and we wonder how the character will play a part in this prequel. Out of all the major castings so far, Lawrence is probably the least known name - though she has recently received accolades for her role in the supposedly brilliant Winter's Bone. Like seriously, we are sick to death of hearing how good she is in that movie. Also now confirmed is Kevin Bacon, adding a much younger degree to his ever increasing connections. Hopefully he'll be playing Mr. Sinister, and it'll be a nice change of pace to see an X-Men movie where it's not Magneto as the main antagonist. Cast as it stands; James McAvoy (Prof X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) Aaron Johnson (Cyclops - though surprisingly THR have removed his name from the confirmed casting list, what gives?), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alice Eve (Emma Frost), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), Lucas Till (Havok). Kevin Bacon as the villain, hopefully Mr. Sinister. Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. Still to cast, we would think - Jean Grey, Angel,Willow, more supporting villains, and maybe Storm. Then there's the other supporting roles I've copied and pasted in nearly every new X-casting article so far but not this time. You can click here and scroll to read it). X-Men: First Class begins filming in London next month.
