MCU: 10 Characters That Could Make Up The Illuminati

Though this is the Multiverse of Madness, it won’t be the first time the concept of which we know frighteningly little will be explored. First Loki, then What If…?, and finally Spider-Man: No Way Home have all dabbled with the multiverse theory previously.

Even if there is a multiversal Illuminati coming, it won’t be the first team to debut in the MCU made up of characters from across different realities. This distinction is held by the Guardians of the Multiverse, brought together in the season one finale of What If...?, with one character expected to be a part of both.

Captain Carter was to the Guardians of the Mutliverse what Captain America was to the Avengers. She was the leader, taking the title of ‘captain’ seriously, and if the rumours are true, she will be making her live action debut in May.

Eagle-eyed viewers have spotted her shield in one of the movie’s posters, and it’s hard to imagine what role she will have to play if not as a member of the Illuminati. Though her strengths typically lie in the battlefield, she was a high ranking member of the military even before taking the serum, and could offer a lot to the team with her mind rather than her body.
