MCU: 10 Characters Who Will Definitely Survive Phase 3
Thanos may be doing it himself, but he's not going to be able to kill everyone.
After nine years and fifteen films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is approaching something of a crossroads. The end of an era, you might say.
We still have a further two years of Phase 3 left, with another seven movies to come (including two more this year), but after that the future of the MCU becomes much less clear.
We've had Phases end before, of course, but they were all linked by the overarching narrative, characters, and ominous presence of Thanos looming in the background. With the Mad Titan ready to truly arrive on the scene in next year's Avengers: Infinity War, the MCU looks like it's in for a serious shake-up.
All it's going to take is one click of Thanos' fingers and all of the heroes will be wiped out. Whether or not that actually happens is another matter entirely, but the point is we're going to see some casualties in Infinity War and its sequel, and some will be permanent.
Marvel have known they're coming to this point for a while, with expiring contracts, arcs being wrapped up, and new superheroes coming to the fore. Some characters seem certain to end their journeys with Phase 3, like Chris Evan's Steve Rogers or Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, while others could go either way.
But looking ahead to the future of the MCU post-Phase 3, post-Thanos, there are some characters who will absolutely be making it out alive.
