3. Paul Rudd Wanted The Teddy Toned Down
For someone so happily involved in some ribald comedies, Paul Rudd is clearly a bit of a soft hearted, beautiful soul who never ages and must grace us with his presence for many decades more. Sorry, got a bit carried away there.
Anyway, he proved his wholesome heart when it came to choosing the right toy for Scott Lang to give to his daughter Cassie. Rudd apparently thought it was too much to give her the evil bunny as Peyton Reed revealed it was "maybe the only time Paul and I had a deep disagreement about something.”
Rudd wanted it to be something more harmless like a Teletubby and said he thought the bunny would be too scary. Thankfully, he was over-ruled and we got to have the bunny and its Spongebob Squarepants cameo (it's voiced by Tom Kenny).
Rudd was one of the key figures in rewriting the film and it was actually him who was behind the Falcon cameo as he revealed on the audio commentary himself:
“McKay and I were always thinking about heist movies. In heist movies, they always do a test run. What if he fought an Avenger? We pitched it to [Marvel Studios head Kevin] Feige, who said yes.”
