MCU: 10 Fascinating Facts Behind Ant-Man & The Wasp (2018)
1. It Was Called Cherry Blue
With MCU films being so popular right now, there’s a very
real danger of people trying to find out important details prior to their
release. This serves to explain why, during its production, Ant-Man and the
Wasp did not go by its true name at all, instead going under the title of ‘Cherry
Blue’.
While this name appears to have no grounding in Ant-Man lore whatsoever, this too makes sense, as having it’s secret name be a coded Ant-Man and the Wasp reference would have still allowed intense fans a hint of what the film’s actual nature was.
What it is a reference to, however, is to a Tim and Eric
sketch – which, when combined with the fact that Tim was hired for the film,
suggest a significant love of the comedy show. It also potentially suggested to
those out of the loop that a Tim and Eric film may have been in production,
which is possibly the most hilarious secret identity a Marvel film has ever
managed to make for itself.
