MCU: 10 Fascinating Facts Behind Captain America: Civil War (2016)
9. The Russos Lied About Some Details
If you hadn't paid attention to Marvel's approach to Avengers; Infinity War and Endgame, you might not know that the Russos are liars. They're not bad liars, of course, they just do it to improve the marketability of their movies. And while the Infinity movie duo's lies have been geared around misdirection, the ones on Civil War are just cheeky additions to the audio commentary.
First off, the Russos claimed that all of the trigger words that form Bucky's conditioning - Longing, rusted, furnace, daybreak, seventeen, benign, nine, homecoming, one, freight car - were taken from future Marvel movies. The cheeky devils.
And on top of that, the Russos also claimed that Young Tony Stark in the opening sequence is played by Robert Downey Jr’s brother, Jerry Downey. It wasn't, but they also revealed at the same time that that was the last shot of the film to be filmed because RDJ had to shave his beard for it and the de-aging process took such a long time.
